Reading a file from a remote customer can be performed for free using a Windows laptop and support J2534 cable. This allows you to obtain a read of their existing tune prior to tuning their vehicle at no cost.

Click file -> Request Flash-Only Customer Read (Note if you cannot see this option, please contact support to have it enabled on your account).

Next enter their email address:

They will then receive the following email.

They can then login and download the flash and log package.

They will then see the following:

They can then login and press “Read Flash”.

Once read they can send you the .tec file which can be sent to you. This process is entirely free.

You can can also perform remote tuning via this method by licensing the file they sent you, editing it and send it back to them either via the save/send customer flash only file. This will email them a copy of the file or you can manually send them revisions. For more information on the Flash and Log package read the following guide

See page 8 to unlock the customer via their VIN number and email address for remote tuning. This will automatically send the file to the customer.
