Licensing Refund Policy
PCMTec's official licensing policy allows refunds of licenses or credits only under specific circumstances:
- Failed PCM replacement
- Compliance with consumer law
- All Other cases below are handled at PCMTec's discretion on a case-by-case basis
Requesting a Refund due to hardware failure.
If your PCM has failed you may request a refund by contacting support. To process your request, provide:
- ECU serial number of the licensed unit
- Details of the failure in case it can be restored.
If support deems the PCM indeed has a hardware fault
Firstly have a read of this HOWTO guide regarding the new PCM.

- Send PCMTEC the old PCM (Contact support for shipping details) and we can refund the credits once you provide tracking details. Note we only do this in Australia currently, for other countries support will advise otherwise.
If you can provide a tracking number we can refund the credits immediately.
We have had the issue of people recirculating damaged PCMs and them showing up at workshops multiple times despite being damaged, this way they stay out of circulation.
Requesting a Refund for Incorrect ECU Licensing
If you have licensed the wrong ECU strategy, you may request a refund by contacting support. To process your request, provide:
- ECU serial number of the incorrectly licensed unit
- Strategy details that you want refunded
Important: Refunds for incorrect licensing are typically granted as a one-time exception only and treated on a case by case basis
After Refund Processing
Once your refund has been processed:
- Open the PCMTec Editor
- Go to Help menu
- Select Re-Sync Credits
This will update your account balance to reflect the refunded credits.
Note this policy is subject to change at any time.
